Version 1.7October 2026

Costs, energy and electrical

• NEWCost estimate: capital cost by process step (civil structures, piling, buildings, equipment, pipework, electrical, site works, preliminaries, contingency and fees) and yearly operating cost (electricity, maximum demand, chemicals, sludge disposal and haulage, staff, maintenance, membranes). Cost of water per m3, operating and whole-life. Default rates are indicative Malaysian rates for 2026 and follow the supply region (Peninsular / TNB, Sarawak / SEB, Sabah / SESB); every rate can be changed. Cost figures are estimates only, and WasserPro shall not be held responsible for any under- or over-estimation.
• NEWElectrical load list built from the selected equipment, with duty and standby motors, running hours and starters; maximum demand, supply transformer and standby generator size (whole plant or essential loads, with the starting of the largest motor checked).
• NEWEnergy use (kWh/day, kWh/m3, by process step) and carbon emissions from electricity (Energy Commission grid factors) and sludge lorries.
• NEWSludge haulage and disposal cost. Pin the disposal facility on the map to measure the distance.

Design checks

• NEWWhat-if checks with the units as sized: a clarifier, filter, flocculation train or clear water tank compartment out of service, a duty pump failing, peak day flow, minimum flow, the coldest water and flood turbidity.
• NEWPathogen removal and disinfection credit: log removal needed for Giardia, viruses and Cryptosporidium, credit for the treatment train, UV credit and the chlorine CT check (US EPA CT tables) added to the clear water tank results.
• NEWPhased construction: units are sized for the full capacity and phase 1 gets enough of them for its own capacity, with phase 1 loadings and a phase 1 / phase 2 cost split.
• NEWLocal climate from the site coordinates (NASA POWER): monthly rainfall, evaporation, temperature and sunshine. Drying beds are checked against rainfall and evaporation (open or roofed beds), and the solar drying shed can take its evaporation rate from the climate data.

Options, revisions and standards

• NEWTab 6 "Options & revisions": save design options and compare up to three with the current design side by side (cost, footprint, power, energy, carbon, sludge, checks, equipment and main sizes). Issue revisions, each keeping a copy of the design, and compare any two to see every input that changed and how the results moved.
• NEWDrinking water standards for many countries (Malaysia, WHO, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, the Philippines, Taiwan, China, India, Australia, United States, European Union, United Kingdom), picked automatically from the project country. The library updates itself about every six months over the internet from signed updates, and tells you what changed.

Reports, drawings and BIM

• NEWCompany logo on the PDF and Word reports (Tools > Report settings), and a choice of what the reports include.
• NEWWord report (.docx) and Excel workbook (.xlsx). The Excel cost estimate, operating cost and load list use live formulas.
• NEWCalculation sheets showing formula, numbers and result for every unit, in the dashboard (open "Calculation sheet" on any result card), as an appendix to the reports and in the Excel workbook.
• NEWAutoCAD drawings (DXF): process flow diagram, plant layout and footprint to scale (optionally at the site's UTM coordinates), hydraulic profile and a 3D model.
• NEWIFC 3D model (IFC 2x3) for Revit and other BIM programs, with every tank and building as its own object and its details in a property set.
• NEWRevision history on the report cover.

Licensing and updates

• NEWFree 14-day trial and online activation with the licence number and email address (where the online shop is set up). Renewed keys are fetched automatically. Reports and exports made during a trial are marked as such.
• NEWHelp > Check for updates; WasserPro also checks about once a week.

Sludge and washwater handling

• NEWMoisture content of the sludge after every handling stage (clarifier sludge, thickened sludge, dried or dewatered sludge, final drying), shown in a new "Sludge moisture and disposal" panel on the Results dashboard, in the sludge results table and in the PDF report.
• NEWDesign check "Moisture content of sludge leaving site" against the new input "Max moisture content accepted off site" (default 25%, the usual limit of Malaysian third-party waste facilities). It can be changed per project or in a custom criteria set. If the limit is not met, WasserPro recommends how much drying is needed.
• NEWOptional final drying before disposal: solar drying shed (sized from the evaporation rate) or thermal dryer (sized from the heat demand).
• NEWOptional polymer to thicken the sludge in the gravity thickener, with the dose and the thickened solids it achieves. Thickening and dewatering polymers now appear in the chemical consumption summary.
• NEWVolume of dewatered or dried sludge to disposal, per day, month and year, with lorry loads (or volume per lagoon emptying), on the dashboard and in the PDF report.
• NEWDrying bed and lagoon options now ask for the dry solids of the sludge when it is removed.

Project and design basis

• NEWCountry list and separate town / site field.
• NEWSite coordinates: type them, paste "latitude, longitude" (as copied from an online map), or click "Pin on map" to drop a pin on a street or satellite map, with place search. The location and coordinates appear on the PDF report cover and in the design basis.
• NEWThe typical design water temperature shown under the input follows the selected country, and the input is highlighted if the value is outside that range.
• CHANGEDThe Consultant field starts blank.

Program

• CHANGEDThe 3D, PDF and map libraries are installed with WasserPro, so it works offline. Only map pictures and place search need internet.

Upgrade notes

• Run WasserPro_Setup_v1.6.exe. There is no need to uninstall v1.5.
• Existing licence keys keep working.
• Projects saved with earlier versions open normally. Their sludge results now include the moisture check, so a "Check" may appear until final drying is added or the limit is changed.

Design criteria and standards

• NEWCustom design criteria and water quality standards, for users outside Malaysia or projects with their own authority requirements. Tools > Design criteria and standards (or "Change criteria" on the Project & basis tab) lets you change: - treated water quality limits and the name of the standard - the limits of every design check (OK / Check) - input default values and typical ranges - pipe velocity ranges Leave a box empty to keep the built-in value, or type "none" to remove a limit.
• NEWCriteria sets can be saved to your criteria library, exported and imported as .wpcrit files to share with colleagues, and chosen as the set for new projects. The set used is saved in the project file.
• NEWResults and the PDF report mark values checked against custom criteria, name the criteria set and water quality standard in the design basis, and list all custom values in the appendix. Recommendations use the active limits.

Upgrade notes

• Run WasserPro_Setup_v1.5.exe. There is no need to uninstall v1.4.
• Existing licence keys keep working.

Licensing and credits

• NEWLicence keys. WasserPro needs a licence key the first time it starts. Each key is digitally signed, works on one computer (identified by its Computer ID) and runs for a fixed period, normally one year. Help > Licence shows the licence details. WasserPro reminds you 30 days before the licence expires. A renewal key is entered with Help > Licence > Enter a new key.
• NEWDate check. WasserPro stops if the computer's date is set earlier than the last date it was used. A date reset code fixes a genuine clock error.
• NEWLicence agreement shown during installation; it must be accepted to install. A copy is installed as LICENCE.txt and linked from the Start Menu.
• NEWDisclaimer in the About box, on the cover of every PDF report and in the report appendix.
• NEWThe licensee's name is printed on the PDF report cover.
• CHANGEDCredit line now reads "WasserPro v1.4 by Anthony Huang".
• CHANGEDThe program code in the installed version is scrambled so it cannot be read or edited with a text editor.

Upgrade notes

• Run WasserPro_Setup_v1.4.exe. There is no need to uninstall v1.3 first.
• After upgrading, WasserPro asks for a licence key the first time it starts.

Installation

• NEWWindows setup program: WasserPro_Setup_v1.3.exe replaces the zip package. Double-click it and follow the wizard. No administrator rights are needed.
• NEWShortcuts on the Desktop and in the Start Menu are named "WasserPro v1.3", so the version shows under the icon.
• NEWSetup still replaces an earlier version automatically (v1.0 to v1.2 included), asks before reinstalling the same version, and asks before replacing a newer one. Saved designs and library files are kept.
• NEWProper Windows uninstaller ("Uninstall WasserPro.exe"), available from Windows Settings > Apps and the Start Menu. Silent install and uninstall with /S for IT administrators.

Program

• NEWMenu bar with File, Edit, View, Tools and Help menus. • NEWProject files (.wasserpro). Open, Save and Save as work like any Windows program. Project files have their own icon, matching the WasserPro icon, and open in WasserPro when double-clicked.
• NEWExit (and closing the window) warns you if the project has unsaved changes, with Save / Don't save / Cancel. A dot beside the file name in the menu bar shows unsaved changes.
• NEWMetric or imperial (US customary) units for inputs, results, diagrams, the CSV export and the PDF report. Designs are always stored in metric, so switching does not change any value.
• NEWSplash screen when WasserPro starts.
• NEWUndo and redo, unit converter, CSV export of every result row, and keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+O, Ctrl+S, Ctrl+Shift+S, Ctrl+P, Ctrl+Q, Ctrl+Z, Ctrl+Y, Alt+1 to Alt+5, F1, F10).
• NEWExample project installed in the Examples folder.

Upgrade notes

• Run WasserPro_Setup_v1.3.exe. There is no need to uninstall v1.2 first.
• Designs exported from earlier versions (.wasserpro.json) open with File > Open project.
• Windows may show "Windows protected your PC" because the setup program is not commercially code-signed. Click "More info", then "Run anyway".

Installation and removal

• NEWUpgrades replace earlier versions automatically. The installer checks which version is on the computer: - an earlier version (1.0, 1.1) is removed and replaced by 1.2; - the same version can be reinstalled to repair it; - a newer version is only replaced if you agree. Saved designs and the downloaded 3D and PDF libraries are kept.

• NEWFull uninstaller. WasserPro now appears in Windows Settings > Apps (and Control Panel > Programs and Features) with its icon, version and publisher, and can be uninstalled from there, from Start Menu > WasserPro > Uninstall WasserPro, or with Uninstall_WasserPro.bat in the package. The uninstaller removes the program folder, all shortcuts and the Windows Apps entry. A quiet mode (-Quiet) is available for IT administrators.

• NEWRelease notes are installed and linked from the Start Menu.

• NEWThe installer writes version.txt and install.log in C:\WasserPro.

Upgrade notes

• Run Install_WasserPro.bat from the new package. There is no need to uninstall the earlier version first.
• Close any open WasserPro window when the installer asks.

Clarification

• NEWOptional lamella tube settler modules or inclined plate packs in rectangular, circular, solids contact and sludge blanket clarifiers: module area and number, projected settling area, upflow and loading checks. The modules raise the allowable tank loading, improve the predicted settled water and the recommendations show how much smaller the tanks could be.

Sludge and water recovery

• NEWReturn of thickener supernatant, dewatering filtrate (or drying bed and lagoon decant) and settled filter washwater to the plant inlet, with return tank and pumps, a check on the return rate (10% of inflow), raw water abstraction in the flow balance, and the effect of the returned water on raw turbidity.
• NEWReturn line in the flow diagram, the 3D model, the pipework table and the PDF flow balance.

3D model

• NEWThe model shows the number of tanks, trains and compartments entered (up to eight drawn; the label gives the full count), and the number of filter cells, pumps, pressure vessels, slow sand beds and membrane racks.
• NEWLamella modules are drawn inside the clarifiers when selected.

System requirements

• Windows 10 or 11 with Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome
• Internet connection the first time you install (to download the libraries)
• macOS / Linux: open WasserPro\WasserPro.html in Chrome, Edge or Firefox

Known limitations

• Results, including predicted water quality, are estimates for preliminary design and must be checked by a qualified engineer.
• Saved designs are stored in the browser profile on each computer. Use Saved designs > Export file to keep or share copies.
• The 3D model shows equipment type, number and arrangement; it is not to scale.
• The installer is not commercially signed, so Windows may show "Windows protected your PC". Click More info > Run anyway.
